slowing down.
Oct. 6th, 2020 12:39 pmit is starting to feel like autumn. the weather wants to say otherwise—it was 90F over the weekend—but i think i've done a successful enough job at filling my apartment with pumpkin/apple/cinnamon scented things that it will feel like autumn well past winter and into spring. when i was younger i thought the whole pumpkin spice trend was ~basic~ but now i've leaned into the trend hard enough that it doesn't fully feel like autumn for me without it.
over the weekend i stayed at my parents' house and my sister and i went to a maker's market hosted by a friend-of-a-friend who sells plants. it was outdoors (as is the new standard for pandemic times) and it was HOT. like it's-a-miracle-i-didn't-get-sunburned, oh-shit-i-forgot-it's-october hot. anyway, it was worth it. i cooled down with this hojicha latte and also bought earrings and a pothos and some eucalyptus stems. the makers were all bipoc (a lot of filipinos!) so i was glad to drop as much money as i did. also was pleasantly surprised that my little ol' hometown has events like this now.
(living in the bay area all my life i should be used to these late summer/early autumn heat trends, but i'm stubborn.)
( work things. )
( what-i-wish-was-my-work things. )
